Robert Christopher Auderer Jr., passed away at the young age of 69 on October 18, 2020 in Texas City, Texas. He was born on December 29th, 1950 in Houston, Texas to Robert C. Auderer, Sr. and Jean Elizabeth Auderer.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Jean E. (Auderer) Noll; father, Robert Auderer, Sr.; Stepmother, Georgia Auderer and Stepfather, Harold Noll and nephew, Bill Sweeney.
Robert is survived by his wife of fourteen years, Michele; children, Chris (and his wife, Elizabeth) Auderer, Crysti and Greg Carlin, Dawn Auderer, Nick Aldridge, Meagan Aldridge (and her husband, Bryan) Ramirez; sister, Barbara Lynn Collins (and her husband, Donald), and stepbrother, Jerry Patterson. Robert was affectionately known as “Big Daddy”, Grandpa and Papaw to Grandchildren Chelsea, Maura, Brittany, Erna, Riley, Aubrey, Elsa, Brayden and another Grandson on the way including two Great-Grand Daughters, Brylea and Brinlee along with many nieces and nephews.
Robert began working for Southwestern Bell after graduation in 1969. He retired after thirty years of service in 1999. After 8 months of retirement, he went back to work at Home Depot in the Garden Department. He became certified as Master Garden Specialist in 2003. After leaving Home Depot in 2005, he then worked at Lowe’s and McCoy’s before retiring for a second time from McCoy’s in 2019. After the second retirement he got to spend time with his first Grandson.
Robert became a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in 1974. He was the Chairman of the Arena Club from 1987-1989. He is also a Lifetime Committeeman of the Corral Club. For over 28 years, he served on the Chute Club as the Front Door Greeter. Robert was an active President of The Hold Em and Hit Em Club since 1989 and a member of the Houston Farm and Ranch Club.

Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing and talking about how good his cooking was. Robert’s greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and all that knew him.
The honorary pallbearers will be: Bob Collins, Darryl Collins, Jack Amburn, Thomas Hejl, Joe Ojeda, Bob Speegle, Jimmy Wiese, Marvin Davore and Richard Womack.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Bay Area Funeral Directors located at 5410 FM 1765 (facing Highway 3) in Texas City, TX 77591. 409-933-4300. Graveside services will be private.
