Pkcs11 No Slot With A Token Was Found
Posted By admin On 12/04/22Enumerate a module's slots. This function returns an array containing one entry for each slot. Each entry contains the slot's name and, if the slot contains a token, information about the token.

You can only call this for a module that is installed in Firefox.
This is an asynchronous function that returns a Promise
.
Syntax
There could be issues with PKCS#11 which requires debugging. To show debug info about Library, Slots, Token, and Mechanism, add showInfo=true in the SunPKCS11 provider configuration file, which you specified statically or dynamically as described in SunPKCS11 Configuration. It also presents to applications a common, logical view of the device that is called a cryptographic token. PKCS #11 assigns a slot ID to each token. An application identifies the token that it wants to access by specifying the appropriate slot ID. For more information about PKCS #11, refer to this URL: PKCS #11 Cryptographic Token Interface. Parameters
name
string
. Name of the module. This must match thename
property in the PKCS #11 manifest for the module.
Return value
A Promise
that will be fulfilled with an array of objects, one for each slot that the module provides access to. Each object has two properties:
name
: the name of the slottoken
: if a token is present in this slot, aToken
object. If no token is present in the slot, this property isnull
.
Token
objects have the following properties:
name
string
. Name of the token.manufacturer
string
. Name of the token's manufacturer.HWVersion
string
. Hardware version, as a PKCS #11 version number (two 32-bit integers separated with a dot, like '1.0'.FWVersion
string
. Firmware version, as a PKCS #11 version number (two 32-bit integers separated with a dot, like '1.0'.serial
string
. Serial number, whose format is defined by the token specification.isLoggedIn
boolean
:true
if the token is logged on already, false
otherwise.
If the module could not be found or some other error occurs, the promise will be rejected with an error message.

Examples
Installs a module, then lists its slots and list the tokens they contain:
PKCS#11 is used as a low-level interface to perform cryptographic operations without the need for the application to directly interface a device through its driver. PKCS#11 represents cryptographic devices using a common model referred to simply as a token. An application can therefore perform cryptographic operations on any device or token, using the same independent command set.
The PKCS #11 API, also known as Cryptoki, includes a suite of cryptographic services for encryption, decryption, signature generation, signature verification, and permanent key storage. The software found on the installation DVD is compliant with PKCS #11 v. 2.20. The latest versions of the client software and HSM firmware can be found on the Thales Technical Support Customer Portal. See Support Contacts for more information.

>SafeNet ProtectServer Network HSM
HSMs include high-speed DES and RSA hardware acceleration, as well as generic security processing. Secure, persistent, tamper-resistant CMOS key storage is included. Multiple adapters may be used in a single host computer to improve throughput or to provide redundancy. HSMs may be installed locally, on the same host system as SafeNet ProtectToolkit-C or they may be located remotely across a network.
>PCI mode in conjunction with a locally-installed SafeNet ProtectServer PCIe HSM.
A machine with a SafeNet ProtectServer PCIe HSM installed may also be used as a server in network mode.

A connection between a token and an application is referred to as a session. Session objects are temporary and only remain in existence while the session is open. Session objects are only ever visible to the application that created them.
